Perfect for spot cleaning
I have an elderly dog that has accidents. I have tried many kinds of carpet cleaners and many are cumbersome and take a while to set up and clean afterwards. I have been using this unit for a while and still have not needed to add more water or cleaners. I did empty the dirty water tank but did not "need" to- there was plenty of room to keep cleaning. The small size let me take it out to my car and clean the seats. I knew they were dirty but the water in the tank looked absolutely black! (I guess I have spilled a lot of coffee on my seats!). I also cleaned my couch and love seat. It did a great job and they smell amazing! The machine is noisy but that is not a big deal to me. I don't expect a silent cleaner! It is easy to carry around with the handle. The cord is plenty long as well so you can clean all areas. The hose perhaps could be a little longer but I just move the unit closer to the mess. When you need to resupply the liquid cleaners, they cost $6 for 16oz of the Oxy cleaner and $6 for 6oz of the deep clean carpet solution. The Shark website is currently out of both. You can buy larger bottles for $11 and $20 respectively. There are other online stores that also carry the Oxy cleaner. Overall, for quick spot cleaning, this is the best machine I have used so far. It is for carpets and upholstery but I even used it on linoleum when my dog "missed" the pads. This will not do large carpets and will not replace your upright carpet cleaner for larger areas but if you need spot cleaning or want to do your furniture and cars, this is a great unit!
