Every one hates this camera because its placed in useless price point, you can get so y a7iii but for someone who is new to full frame this will do the work!

Normally I do not write a review but as I waited impatiently for this gem of a camera to arrive I'm Very Impressed with the work Nikon has done to develop a Camera that everyone will love . It has hit all my expectations.

Great camera - only a couple of compromises

I've shot a number of Nikon bodies over the years and the Z5 is everything you'd expect from Nikon. The 24-50 is the lens that Nikon promised. It's small, light and sharp. It has it's limitations, but for an everyday walk-around lens, it fits the bill. If you're going to do a lot of low-light shooting, I'd suggest the 24-70 instead. If I had the extra $500 I would have gone for the 24-200. Definitely grab an FTZ on discount. The biggest issue with the Z lineup is there are so few Z lenses. Eventually you will want to use an F-mount. I've also got a Z50. In most cases when I compare the images from the two, I only notice minor differences between them, and only if I go looking for them. If you're doing a lot of shallow DOF shooting (portraits, etc.) you'll notice the expected differences being FX vs. DX. I have one issue with the Z5. At present it does not play nice with most 3rd party lenses when shooting RAW. It will take the pictures just fine, the JPEGs look great. But, the most common image processing software that we almost all use (PS, LR, Capture One, etc.) says the RAW files are corrupt and won't open them. Nikon is aware of the issue, but points the blame at the software. The software points the blame back at Nikon. In the end the customer gets the short end. It will get fixed eventually by the software companies.

    Amazing

I bought this to replace my decade old Nikon d3100. Honestly I was skeptical, how and why is this mirrorless camera so cheap?! Well it has surpassed my expectations. 2 notes. 1. It’s not the best for moving objects. 2. It struggles a little in low light, and doesn’t have a built in flash. I did buy an Amazon cheap flash that has made a world of difference. A few pictures I took from a recent florida trip.

Great Camera for beginners and I just love capturing memories. I would defiantly recommend this. Don't forget to get a lens.

Perfect entry level full frame mirroreless.

This is a great entry level camera for full frame mirrorless. The two programable function buttons at the front are extremely useful once you get used to them, although I wish I could reprogram the dial on the top/back of the camera. The overall grip of the camera is fantastic, very comfortable and solid. The lens is just as many others have explained it, it's a basic kit lens, don't expect too much out of it. I got it just to have a full frame Z lens, all my other lenses are DX or F mount.

    Great camera

Amazing camera. The photos this takes are awesome, but the crop on the video makes filming a child, pet, or road trip difficult.
