    Fantastic Display!!

Posted by Benjamin Rivera on 27th Jun 2024

This display is in my opinion the best option on the market right now for a lot of different types of users, but especially for mac owners. The display is large, bright, clear and works flawlessly. I really like the design with the white back, a detachable power cord! (NOT a horrible power brick) beautiful and functional stand but it's also out of the box VESA mountable! This display gets an A+ in a lot of areas for me. I really like the controls which are very easy to engage with and understand using the joystick that is in the middle of the display at the bottom. I also appreciate the designers giving the option to enable or disable the power LED on the display but I especially like that it's positioned on the bottom of the display and shines downward - it's not on the front of the display to shine in your face. This is an attention to detail that shows just how much thought was put into the design of this display. Ports galore! Thunderbolt 4 for the display, and if your device supports it there's a 2nd Thunderbolt port that will allow you to daisy chain a second display, DisplayPort, 2 HDMI ports. There are 2 USB Ports that are on the right side of the display (another attention to detail that I appreciate). The refresh rate is 72Hz (a bit better than the 60Hz on most monitors), Color is spot on. I work from home and this is my everything display! Plenty of room for spreadsheets, 300nits of brightness for photo editing and a wide screen movie fits the screen beautifully with the 21:9 aspect ratio. I think the price point is really a good bargain for everything that you get in this display.

Single cable thunderbolt, 5K and anti-reflective screen ... what's not to like. Driving it with Samsung laptop running windows 11. No issues at all

I got this in "Fair" condition open-box and it's absolutely beautiful. Best Buy has always come through with their products and I'm loving this big screen... already considering getting another for my content studio. Awesome buy!!

Great alternative to Apple Studio Display

Posted by Timothy Jones on 18th Jun 2024

Personally, I am VERY picky about the resolution coming from a 5k iMac. I tried other non 5k2k’s and even with 2X resolution they just didn’t cut it. So I was nervous and not sure it was even worth it for $1800… and I don’t think it is unless you really want or need the extra screen space as opposed to the Apple Studio Display. For that reason it’s great. Text clarity is great. I have Mac Studio and set it to 3840 and sometimes 3360 if I want the text to be a little bigger. Colors are great. It does seem dim at first, but I have gotten use to it. The brightness controls 50-100% have no change. So if you want to dim it, it really starts under 50%. So I run at 80-100% most of the time. I wish it could go a bit brighter for times during the day. But it’s alright. If I had to pick a value I’d pay for it and not feel like it’s too much. I’d put it at $1200 instead of $1800 MSRP. Anything under $1000 would be an absolute steal. However, if money is no object for you and you want the real estate. It’s probably the only choice we have that comes close to the clarity of the Apple Studio display. I don’t find myself feeling like I am missing out. It wakes up quickly. Using Monitor Control (GitHub version) and EasyRes(App Store) I can control volume and brightness from keyboard just the same.

Amazing monitor with one small issue

Posted by Sarah Robbins on 16th Jun 2024

This thing is amazing. Picture quality is amazing and all the room to get things done. Only problem I've seen is that you get your highest framereate using usb-c but you lose HDR capability. If you want HDR then you need to use HDMI but will be locked in at 60hz. Not a big deal for me but something I found out the hard way that took my a little while on how to fix it.

Great WS Monitor for my MacBook Pro

Posted by Sarah Avery on 13th Jun 2024

I'm using this display with a 16" MacBook Pro (M2 Max). Purchased after doing a ton of research so I was prepared for some quirks - can't control brightness or volume via keyboard, and the display can be a touch slow to reconnect when waking the MB from sleep. As many have stated it is not the brightest monitor but it works great in my workspace. I do video editing so spreading out a timeline in Adobe Premiere or Avid Media Composer is just great. For video calls I just hook my iPhone onto the top of the monitor and use Apple's Continuity Camera feature. The resolution may not technically be "retina" but at normal working distance I can't see the pixel structure and text looks very crisp. Highly recommended!

The best ultrawide money can buy

Posted by Barbara Davis on 12th Jun 2024

As of writing this, this is the best ultrawide monitor money can buy. Yes, there are wider 49" options, but they have significantly lower pixel density. This is as wide as you can go while still preserving great sharpness. Colors are great. Curve is perfect for productivity. Ergonomics and adjustability are wonderful. Connectivity, with Thunderbolt 4, is top-notch (I'm using it on a Mac Studio with no problems.) Only minor complaint is that the brightness tops out at 300 nits - not quite enough. On most days it's fine, but when there's a lot of sunlight coming into the room it can be a problem.

    Great work display

Posted by Keith Jones on 11th Jun 2024

I was using a 27" nano glass apply display and another 27" thunderbolt display. I was getting tired of having to look from one to the other when working. I love the LG 40" because it's all on one screen, the resolution is great, and it's easy to use. I can have my applications open, check my email, have several menus open and work with ease. The only downside is the speakers arent't that great. It doesn't have built in camera, but I rarely use one anyway.

    Great monitor for Mac!

Posted by Angel Perez on 5th Jun 2024

This is my first ultra wide monitor and I’ve got to say that the productivity boost you get with the extra screen estate is amazing. The monitor itself is quite bulky so check if your monitor accessories will properly fit. I had to exchange my monitor within the exchange period due to speaker issues but Best Buy was quick with it. Overall, screen is fantastic and works well when paired to Mac minus the scaling issues. I do wish the stand didn’t take so much desk space though but understandable considering the size of the monitor.
