    Buy at your own risk...

Posted by Christopher Brandt on 21st Jun 2024

I purchased this MOBO and have had nothing but issues. At first, it was the power usage, then an audio glitch began happening where it would crackle then progressively get worse until the audio would go out and the only way to fix it was to restart my computer. The power issue seems to have been resolved by a new setting they put in the BIOS last week, 4/26/24 (I bought this 6 months ago). I've RMA'd it once, the 'new' (refurbished) MOBO I received has the same exact issues. They want to RMA it again, but this time they want to replace it with an all white MOBO (because they can't sell them, I'm guessing). I'm at the point I'm going to ask for a refund and use another brand... This issue is a known issue, and they still made me pay for shipping on the first RMA (they are paying for the second). From everything I gathered online, this is a Realtek hardware issue from the built-in audio components on the MOBO. The crazy thing is, many people have the same issue, but everyone fixed it a different way. I've never seen anything like this, honestly, and I've put together multiple PCs for myself and friends/colleagues. For some reason, everything that was mentioned online didn't work for me. And, MSI's tech support will not walk you through anything related to BIOS settings. They consider it as consumer OCing at that point, even though the MOBO OCs the CPU to too high of settings straight out of the box. I asked the support specialist why wouldn't they have it set to CPU default safe settings right out of the box and then leave it up to the consumer to OC from there. He said that makes sense, but that's not how we do it here... ASUS has a setting in the BIOS to stay within CPU safe settings. The new setting in the MSI BIOS I spoke of earlier that seemed to fix the power issue for me was... Intel - dynamic tuning technology, I turned that on and have not had any "out of memory" errors or blue screens since...

Faulty motherboard even after RMAing. AVOID!

Posted by Scott Reyes on 30th May 2024

Avoid this motherboard. Avoid MSI. Avoid BestBuy. this motherboard has faulty internet drivers/hardware if you ever want to host a dedicated server, your internet will completely crash requiring a restart and permanently damaging your motherboard making the crashes easier to trigger internet crashes. After paying for my own shipping, waiting WEEKS for my RMA. They still sent back a broken motherboard with physical damage now being done do it, there were several bent pins and scratches which luckily don't effect things but it's just a little cherry on top. Avoid Bestbuy because you're given a 15 day return policy while just about every other instore/online retailer provides twice or more than twice the time to return. Their support is either uninformed and thus spread misinformation about the channels you can take if the product you buy fails you. It just gives you false hope which makes things worse when you're having an issue.
