    like the over sized fridge

Posted by Diamond Carr on 27th Jun 2024

Our last built in was a side by side and I didn't like the minimal refrigerator space. This Kitchen Aid is wonderful on space!! My only complaint would be the french doors slam easily; and sometimes if not careful especially with kids the rubber doesn't close the door all the way.

    Our Build-In has come in!

Posted by Taylor Diaz on 21st Jun 2024

First of all, it's gorgous! We bought the24.2 Cu. Ft. French Door stainless steel built-in refrigerator. With the refigerator French Doors on top, we now have all the space required to hold the all of our small things up to large and wide containers. A majority of our food isn in the refigerator, and now we can see the items on the shelves and drawers so much better that before. I didn't think we'd like the Freezer down below the refrig section, by it seems to be working! When you pull out the freezer drawer, the contents are easier to see and easier to load after coming home from shopping. We waited over 3 years for our buil-in to come in. It's pricy, but we love it>

    Okay with reservations

Panel ready fridge. Difficult to understand mounting systems and door clearances ahead of time. I looked up some older manuals and diagrams were much more detailed, but now Kitchenaid has omitted those from the manual. Doors had to be set at 90 degrees, but they don't stay open very well at that angle, they want to close on you. There's no way to use it like french doors unless you hold your elbows out to keep from getting close on, or you need a helper. Even though we installed panels, there is a lot of aluminum that shows on the front, we're thinking about painting all that aluminum to match the stained wood on the door panels. Freezer door is hard to pull out. Ice maker makes too much ice and it piles up and then gets knocked out and falls into the bottom part of the freezer when opening the ice drawer. Eventually I will have to clear out the freezer then reach in there and clean up all the ice that's fallen out. If I don't think about the price, it is a mostly enjoyable fridge, but when I do think of the price I feel like these details should have been worked out and documentation should have been impeccable. I always wonder if these appliance companies ever sit down with a focus group to see if they have the info they need in a manual and installation. It was professionally installed, but since some of the kitchenaid details are different than other manufacturers, it was quite hard to get right.

It shows any marks on the stainless which is unf

The stainless steel shows any fingerprints easily and this is unfortunate. I‘ve taken a bit of time getting used to the two door model but it is a fine Refrigerator/freezer. Food has stayed in great condition during my only first ten days with it. I feel it is very expensive which I’m trying to figure out exactly why. Just cuz it is a built in model?

    Tons of space

Posted by Paula Sanders on 20th Jun 2024

I had an old subzero and never thought I'd find a new fridge that could match it for space. I was pleasantly surprised when loading all the food in that I had plenty of room. I've always had a side by side refrigerator/freezer, so to switch from top/bottom is taking some getting used but overall I'm very pleased.

Doors are a little troublesome - Right door squeaks when you open it. It closes violently if you let go of it. Left door often requires an extra push to close it all the way.

    Exceptional Built-in Option

Posted by Kenneth Jones on 9th Jun 2024

Overall this is an exceptional refrigerator. Several years ago we had a high-end premium brand installed at our previous home, and it's worth noting that I actually like this KitchenAid much better. It's efficient and spacious, and the interior is well laid out providing plenty of storage options. We are a family of 8, and have found this 24.2 Cu. Ft. option to have plenty of space for everything we need. On the downside, there is no water dispenser. We have also discovered that the ice maker (even on MAX ICE MODE) does not create as much ice as we would like.

42 inch KitchenAid french door built-in refridge

Posted by Kimberly Johnson on 5th Jun 2024

We have been looking at this Refrigerator to buy it for an entire year, We just ordered it a week ago, and we are scheduled to receive it on May 18th 2020, we are anticipating it to be all that we hope for in our newly remodeled kitchen and we are greatly looking forward to it arriving. We researched this Refrigerator in every avenue available to us for an entire year before purchasing it, and found it to have everything that we wanted, from looks, right down to whether it would fit a gallon bottle of milk in the door shelf: and whether we could order the egg and butter trays instead of regular trays for the top part of the doors, which we were told that we could, and the cost is around $15.00 to $16.00 dollars each to have these extra features, but it does not automatically come with them, we are happy with that and are anticipating our new refrigerator arriving soon, We can give a more updated review once it is installed, and cannot wait for it to arrive and start using it, as well as how beautiful it will look once installed. We hope all of our in-depth research pays off.
