This is a great dehumidifier, my a/c was running non stop all day until night time, but since purchasing and using this dehumidifier, my a/c is now able to cool to the set temperature and turn off.

    Won't empty out the hose

Posted by Javier Kemp on 30th Apr 2024

Vermont had serious floods last summer (2023). This dehumidifier took care of the basement so that it did not get black mold, etc. One issue: for the first month, the water automatically discharged out the hose, which was perfect. After that month, it still works great, but does not empty with hose. We have to empty the full reservoir instead. It will not discharge out the hose. Could this be replaced or is there a way to fix it?

    Worth Every Penny

This dehumidifier has been a life saver. We moved into a newly built apartment that had humidity issues. We ran this 24/7 for a few weeks and it made a HUGE differnce in the air quality. Now i just cut it on and off so it is not running all the time. I could not recommend this product more. The design is very sleek and minimal compared to others. It does have wheels on the bottom (product description says that there are not wheels). It would roll well on hard floors, would not recommend trying to roll on carpet.

A retired controls Engineer, with too much time.

I picked up this 35 pt/day dehumidifier in mid-May 2023. I ran a set of 3 trial runs of 5 hr. each and measured an average output of 31.4 pt/day rate. This is fairly close to its rating, since my basement was not at the industry rating standard of 65 deg F and 60% RH. My conditions were 61 F dry bulb and 69% RH, measured with a Taylor Sling Psychrometer and converted to %RH on an ASHRAE Psychometric chart. The Wattage draw averaged 362 with the compressor running. A later test at 65F and 60%RH produced an output of 38.1 pt/day equivalent. So I can say that this dehumidifier has the ability to remove the moisture it is designed to. However, when I then set run at a 55%RH setting, it cycled at about a 10 +/- 2 minute frequency and only output at a 20.6 pt/day rate. The compressor would run 3-6 minutes, the fan stayed on another 3 min. and then it was totally OFF for only 2 min. I was surprised that the humidity display rose from 55% to 60% in that (Fan+OFF) 5 minutes. At the 60%RH level it restarted the cycle. I'm sure the space humidity did not change that fast (I used my psychrometer), the humidifier blows its discharge air into a different basement room than it draws from, and the coil was not icing up. I question where inside the dehumidifier they have located the humidity sensor, and if this location is contributing to what I would consider a short cycling condition that may reduce its actual dehumidification capacity to closer to one-half it's rated and proven potential.

    Not nosy

Excellent construction for my closets. Great job. I like it’s job except one thing. It’s blowing hot air, but sometime it stopped blowing hot and was blowing regular air with 45% humidity. When it blows regular air it not drying at all. Turn on and off doesn’t help, only turn off for a long time. Humidity levels that it shows sometimes not true, so you need good thermometer. Anyway good value for the money.

    Great little unit

Posted by Kristen Wilson on 17th Apr 2024

We live in Oregon and it can be a little damp around here. Fortunately we have never had any mold issues in our basement but it can feel a little damp down there during rainy season. It can also smell a little musty. Picked this unit up on sale and within a few hours the smell was completely zapped. The unit’s humidity reading was close to my hygrometer’s reading and appears accurate. Quickly reduced humidity from 52% down to 35%. Of course it’s currently dry season here so it may have to work a little harder during the rainy season - but we’re glad we got the unit. Even if you don’t have any moisture *problems* but you’re tired of the basement smell, this will shock you at how quickly it is remedied. My only complaint is the bucket is a little finicky to put it. It has these random tracks on the bottom and it took a couple of times struggling with it to figure out the trick. I really love Insignia products. We have Insignia TV’s, chest freezer, this dehumidifier, among others. You save by not paying for the brand name and get high quality products. Have never had an issue with any of our Insignia products.
