    Excellent upper-mid range TV!

Posted by Julia Jackson on 22nd May 2024

The Hisense U7 is an impressive TV that looks and sounds good. With a peak brightness of 1500nits, Dolby Vision content looks outstanding, and the Hi-View Engine Pro enhances non-HDR content. It also has a built-in subwoofer, which sounds impressive for built-in audio. Don’t expect a rumbling sound, but it is far better than your average TV speaker setup. With some added features like AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for variable refresh rate support and next-gen ATSC 3.0 turner for higher picture and audio quality for over-the-air TV channels, the Hisense U7 is a fierce competitor in the upper mid-range TV segment for 2024. Some of the standout features Mini-LED Pro with Full Array Local Dimming for better contrast ratio. QLED Quantum Dot Color technology for better color saturation. Hi-View Engine Pro to enhance picture quality. 144hz Game Mode Pro for smoother gameplay. Dolby Vision and Atmos support for impressive picture and sound quality. With the latest Google TV for access to all your streaming apps and intelligent features, like Google Assistance for voice controls. Besides having a clear, bright picture, the Hisense also performs well for fast action scenes, like when viewing sports, that don’t result in a blurry image. This could be the result of having a high-refresh panel. That was another complaint I had from my previous Hisense TV. Game consoles like the Xbox Series X and PS5 and PCs can take advantage of those high refresh rates. On my Xbox and PS5, 120hz is supported, but only at 1080p resolution. Depending on your PC hardware, you may be able to push higher refresh rates at 4K resolution. The black levels are much improved but don’t expect inky black levels to be found like in OLED displays. There is still some bloom in effect when displaying a bright image on a dark background typical of LCDs. Overall, the picture quality for an LCD is top-notch for an upper mid-range TV. If the picture looks dim at first, change it from the power-saving mode. One of my major complaints about owning a Hisense TV in the past was the sluggish UI. The Hisense U7 UI, so far, has been a smooth experience for the most part. A couple of hiccups still result in a one—to two-second delay, but at least the whole thing doesn’t slow down to a crawl. With a more potent processor, Google Assistance is much quicker when asking questions or opening apps. Bluetooth audio and signal have also benefited from the upgraded internals. The included remote control is backlit, which is convenient for nighttime viewing. One underrated feature is that it lights up as soon as you pick it up. You no longer need to press a button just to light it up. Besides dedicated buttons for popular streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney, you can customize one button to open another app or switch to a specific input or live TV. So far, the Hisense U7 has been impressive. Minor quirks, like the far-in-between hiccups, can be addressed via updates. Even with that, Hisense has nailed the core fundamentals of a great TV: picture quality and sound, and everything else is just the icing on the cake.

    Great TV for the price!!

Posted by Alejandra Jackson on 12th May 2024

Really enjoy this unit. Packaging was suitable for transport and unpackaging was easy. I chose to put this on the wall rather than the included stand. The unit is large and semi heavy. I did need some assistance to put it on the wall. I really like the appearance of this unit. Its is minimal frame and a single LED status on the middle center bottom. Included is a single standard remote. The remote has a metallic finish. The remote is designed for the smart tv aspect of the unit. As for the install, it was simple as expected. I do although have one issue. The HDMI ports are off set to the side. This caused me to have to purchase a longer than expected cable to make my run. coming up short about 2 foot for my install purposes. Picture is really nice out of the box, nice color and contrast. I did notice some skin tone variance but I have not calibrated this unit. Seems to be a simple fix. I really like the quick menu options for gaming and other functions. Volume of the unit is good for a room. The full array with local dimming showd not signs of blooming or hot spots. It had nice shadows and good contrast. Great HDR content!! This unit checked all the boxes for my particular needs. Although you can step up to the U8 model for higher brightness nit output and a few other enhanced motion settings. Nice unit for the price and give a great experience!

    My first HiSense TV

Posted by Mr. Matthew Thomas on 28th Apr 2024

I spent a lot of time reviewing different brands and models, and I believe I settled on a great TV. The picture is awesome, and I was quite surprised how loud the speakers were. Although I have a nice soundbar, I used the TV speakers a few days to try them out, and they have a decent sound, but they aren't going to give you the sound of a good soundbar system. Setup was simple, although it did take me a bit to get the hang of the layout, since this is the first Google OS TV I've used. As many people have reviewed on virtually all makes/models of Google TV's, it is a bit slow, so expect a second or three wait whenever you press a button. All in all, I like this TV very much.

    Fantastic Picture on this one!

Posted by Corey Anderson on 26th Apr 2024

Oh, my when I got this TV into the living room, I realized how large a 75" TV is. My daughter helped me to remove it from the box and install the stand. I highly recommend that this should be a two person job. We got it on the TV stand and plugged it in. We then plugged in the sound bar using the eARC HDMI port. I walked through the setup with ease. My previous TV, I used a Roku, but it wasn't necessary anymore. I've plugged it in, but I've not used it at all. Everything works great from the smart TV. I've signed into all our streaming apps and everything works fantastically. The picture is fantastic! We can see the peach fuzz on the little ole ladies' faces. HAHA! I've had a series of movies I bought in 4k just waiting for the TV that can stream them. Colors are crisp and blacks are very black. Motion is very clear. The picture is just outstanding! The speakers are better than most, but I prefer the great sound of the eARC through the soundbar. My old TV didn't have the eARC for sound, so I had to have a TV remote, a volume remote for the sound bar and then the roku remote. What I love now is that I'm back down to one well laid out remote. There is a slight delay when clicking on anything system related. The play pause, volume, and channel buttons are much more responsive. The delay for the system clicks like menu or settings, are delayed enough that you'll hit it a second time, just in time for the first click to respond so you end up opening then closing the setting and having to click again to open again. They need to work on that response time a bit. I didn't hook up any gaming to the TV yet so I can't speak on that at this time. I would absolutely recommend this TV!

    U7 is a Beast of a TV

Posted by Danielle Stephenson on 9th Apr 2024

The U7 is way brighter than expected. Glare was no problem even with a large bay window to the side of the TV. It’s colors are incredible, one of the clearest pictures I’ve seen. The apps worked incredibly well for streaming and youtube. Love the ability to search by talking to the remote. The built in audio is impressive. It gets very loud but remains clear.
