A Very Smart device. Good for all media's needs

Posted by Shaun Vaughn on 4th Apr 2024

This is indeed a good TV from Hisense. Hisense is an old name in TVs and Radios manufacturing. Their Google TV with Mini-LED 4K QLED 55" is known to have an amazing display with true colors. The Hisense offers a great and smart experience for watching movies, sport, news and even using the TV as a computer display. The original sound speakers are amazing with smart sound channels selection allowing a multi-dimensional sound effects. When watching movies (some of them) the sound would feel like coming from your right side or left side which gives a better experience. Display: The most important thing about a TV is indeed the display. The Hisense has a clear high definition 4K display. I found out that it would look better if you reduce the brightness. By default, the screen is set to the highest 100% brightness. With that, it won't look very good in any indoor light. In my experience, setting the screen brightness to 20% gives me the best view without having the brightener areas effects. I also selected the dynamic setting (Smart Scene) where the type of the display colors and refresh (Picture Quality) would change based on what is being played on the TV. The TV would let you know when there is a change in video mode. Which is really good. Light Sensor is also available on this Hisense. Most TVs are having this feature and it is working fine. It adapts the brightness of the TV with the environment light intensity so you don't have to do it manually when light changes. Hisense allows you to adjust the sensitivity of this light sensor shift. Game settings are also available. The Hisense is offering the PC Sync function and the forcing of higher refresh rate mode. By that, the TV would do just fine as a gaming display for your work and play times. All in the settings. Sound: Out of the box, the Hisense has a great sound capability with multiple levels and directions. I've noticed that the sound hardware is set to be on the upper power side. For anything lower than 15 - 10% volume, the sound would get a bit normalized and might not be at the expected quality. It also depends on what are you watching. Movies Vs. Game Vs. News ... The TV is capable of differentiate between them. In settings, you can select between the following Audio Outputs: TV Speakers/HDMI(ARC)/OPTICAL/Bluetooth/Wired headphones. Operating system: This Hisense TV is running a Google TV. With that, it is capable to provide you with a full smart TV experience as it is capable of including all your streaming sources in one place. It also promotes some free streaming services that are actually good. With that also, it would still provide the Google products and the Google voice search feature. Starting time is good. Actually VERY GOOD. It starts swiftly and ready to work immediately. From settings, you can also select the power mode you want the TV to work under. You can select the STANDBY for a faster turning on (waking up). You can also set a default time when the TV should turn off and another time when it should turn on. Good for scheduling times. Out of the box, the Hisense is also supporting Apple AirPlay which allows you to connect the Hisense to your iPad or other Apple devices for controlling and mirroring. Connectivity: This Hisense TV has 3 sides HDMI (full size) 4K @ 60Hz with one eARC HDMI (dedicated for external Audio). Another HDMI on the back side. 2 USB ports (rated 5V 0.5A MAX). Headphone jack connector. Antenna or Cable connector. Digital Audio Out and of course a LAN RJ-45 connector. I am using the LAN to connect to the internet. I’ve tried the WiFi and it works well but I still prefer the direct wire connection. It allows me to have a stable and full speed bandwidth to my TV. There is a reset button as well, if needed. Control: The Hisense can be turned on and controlled by directly operating the buttons in the middle lower part of the TV. Just in the area where the power indicator LED is. As this is also a smart TV, it is equipped with dual microphone sound capturing that can be disabled by a hard switch available in the manual control area. The remote control is amazing. While not being cramped with too many buttons and functions, it has a back-light that would come on once you move the remote. It allows you a good visibility when it is dark. The remote is sleek and long enough not to be easy to lose. You need to pair it with the TV the first time you set it up. Which is an easy process… Once paired, the remote will not relay a lot on the IR. It will not require a direct visibility with the IR sensor on the TV. IR control is still considered as low consumption power trigger. I believe Hisense is keeping it for that reason: To wake up the TV from sleep. Tips and Tricks: You can always install the smart TV app on your android phone (sorry Apple users) and it will allow you to have a control from your phone. It works well if you are on the same wifi. You can also cast from your Google Phone, Chrome or Tablet to the TV easily. Another tip: if you use a third party service provider, this TV can connect to Alexa and you can voice control it through your smart home mentioned earlier. In this case. It will allow you to add the TV to your smart routines and so on… Conclusion: Good video quality, superior audio and multiple functions in a smart Operating System. Remote control that is really innovative and well made. If you can combine all that with as good deal, you have a complete SMART TV that guarantee you a good and fun experience. You would buy it for your daily media streaming, work and meeting large display requirements, Gaming on a High Definition… This is not my first Hisense and won’t be the last. I never had issues with any of the acquired TVs.

Great TV at a great price

This TV has really impressed in terms of picture and sound quality. Easy to use remote and several picture setting options. I reduced the brightness level as its factory set at 100 which was too bright for my liking. I would recommend this set to anyone.
