    It's a 4090

Posted by Andre Chang on 5th May 2024

I mean its a 4090. at the time of my purchase its the most powerful consumer grade GPU available, and Gigabyte seems to be a decent brand. (only Gigabyte product I have purchased so far) Only complaint is that the price is obviously at least a few hundred too much but that is on Nvidia for setting the standard at 1600.

    Future Proof?

The only thing I don't like is the price... It is quiet and even at full load I haven't seen it hit 60°

    Get it!!

Posted by Michael Hooper on 29th Apr 2024

The card is not only a bohemith it also stay very cool. Now that EVGA is out of it i decided to go with this one. Make no mistake, this is a powerful video card that plenty of potential. I get around 175 Fps on shadow of the TR with temps hovering around 55°c. I have paired with R9 5900x and 32gb of ddr4 3600 Cl14, make sure this will fit your case, the included support bracket is needed for the 5lb bohemith. It is expensive, but at the end of day so is alot of other things. I've owned this one for just over a weeks and it does not disappoint, no problems with the pcie adapter, just make sure it is completely plugged to the gpu and the psu cables. I went from a 3070 ti and this was huge improvement, I'm using the Mag B550 Tomahawk wifi board with my set up.

    Productivity Behemoth

Posted by Thomas Callahan on 14th Apr 2024

I was waiting for the launch of the super series cards to pick up a white 4080 super because my new system consists of a 13900k in a Tower 200 case and mere 850watt psu but they were more scarce than expected and still high priced. This was available in store surprisingly. I was initially concerned about power draw and heat with my 240 AIO cpu cooler but everything works great. Gaming performance is obviously the best it can be but my side hustle of photo and video work saw the most improvement. Team green is really stingy with vram on their gpus as of late but I like many others consider this a bridge to the workstation cards. Now if only I could learn to train an AI to tag all the racer numbers in my captures I would be in heaven!

    Great card!

Posted by Daniel Johns on 14th Apr 2024

It’s a great card but the price sucks. I actually took it back. Not because I didn’t like the card, more like if I was streaming or played for hours and hours and multiple games. I would’ve definitely kept it. But I only play really 3 games. So I thought it was a little overkill for me. Got an open box 4080 for under $1000 that would go perfect for my Ryzen 9 7950x 64 gigs of ram. Also just saved over $850. 4080 is good enough trust me.

    tight install

Posted by Robert Lopez on 10th Apr 2024

A tight install into the pc....the anti-sag bracket is also tough to use. I think the MSI solution bracket is a better, however the GIGABYTE bracket does support the card at the far end instead of at the back like the MSI Bracket does. Maybe just sour grapes from my dropping the screws 5 times. The card itself is running flawlessly.

    Great high end card

Posted by Olivia Brooks on 8th Apr 2024

Upgraded from a 3090 FE to this card and man did i notice a significant upgarde. With all the new games coming out i noticed that my old 3090 couldnt really keep up as much with out using DLSS, which is fine and all but i prefer playing at a native 4k. This is a huge card and I recommend installing the the mounting bracket to your motherboard for the extra support. When it comes to the power supply for this card i highly recommend upgrading to an Atx3.0 psu, bc the adapter that comes with it is such an eyesore and even in my Lian Li 011 dynamic I found cable management to be very difficult. So went with a thermaltake 1200w one from bestbuy, but even with the single 12v port and how much the card sticks out, the cord is pressing against the glass, so depending on your case I recommend getting a vertical mount for the card or a special adapter from cable mod that allows it be plugged in at 90 degree angle (it’s not out yet but you can preorder it). Overall this is a beast of a card and you will get the best performance in any game.

    Cool Powerhouse

Posted by Lindsay Welch on 3rd Apr 2024

Absolute powerhouse! Additionally it stays cool under full load for several hours of gaming. Only issue would be the sheer size of the card. Other that that if you want the absolute best and are able to pay for it. This is definitely the card for you.

Large power hungry beast of a GPU

Posted by Christopher Berg on 2nd Apr 2024

Let me preface this by saying that all of these current gen GPU's cost too much! With that said this card does exactly what its advertised to do. I came back to NVidia because their performance and driver support over the years are the best in the business. Size wise this card dwarfs my last gen XFX Speedster MERC 319 RX 6900 XT in both width and depth so be sure that your case and motherboard can handle such a large card. My build is in a Thermaltake Level 20 XT case on a MSI MEG Z790 ACE EATX motherboard so any card will fit. My mb is also mounted horizontally so no stress on the PCIE slot but if you mount it another way then you will have to consider using the card support bracket or placing it on a riser if your case supports one. The power draw can really creep up in the 450w+ range during stress testing so if your system's power supply is not in the recommended range you shouldn't buy one. I run an EVGA Supernova G2 1300w with 6 individual PCIE power rails for the GPU and 4 of them are supplying the power to this card using the supplied 4 to 1 12vhpwr adapter. The power connector is a fickle thing and you should be sure to plug it into the card while its outside the case. I thought I had it connected as it snapped when I initially seated it but I wiggled it a bit more while pushing down and it snapped again at which point the tiny little latch was over the notch fully which I verified by shining a flashlight onto it. If you never watched the Gamer's Nexus video on the melting connectors maybe you should before buying any 4090 card so you can fully understand the importance of completely engaging the power connector prior to powering up the system. Even 3rd party cables from well known companies are melting on the 12vhpwr connector so be informed before you make a costly mistake. I have included some of my Time Spy benchmarks so you can see a comparison between my old card and this one running on an Intel Z790 based system with Intel 13900K CPU. The cooling fans on the unit will stop even in the performance mode unless you disable fan stop in the gigabyte utility interface which is not very intuitive. The LED controls are even less useful and the lights stop with the fans and do not function like normal argb lights. I just use them as indicators to whether or not the fans are turning. My case has 19 Antec Prism X fans so temps are good even while gaming and benching. This card runs cooler than my old one but I can hear the fans spool up from time to time and they are quite loud at full rpm. I'm hoping that this setup will last me a couple of years which is why its seemingly overkill. Stock seems to be improving which is how I was able go purchase this card for 1 hour pickup at my local store. If you do buy one be sure the register your card immediately after purchase to get the 4 year warranty.
