12g/s as the main drive? Why not

Posted by Robert Frey on 27th Jun 2024

I was in the market for a fast reliable ssd for my main drive and was introduced to this beast couple weeks ago and had to buy one. I mean the speed is crazy and having 4tb you’ll never run out of space. Now there were some concerns regarding using it as the main drive. I haven’t have any problems yet but it does get a little too hot on my motherboard which I believe slows it down as well. Overall liking it so far and we will see what happens next.

    Already giving me issues.

Posted by Michael Nelson on 18th Jun 2024

Sadly this piece of hardware is already giving my issues and it hasn't been roughly 2 to 3 months. Not sure if its the software needed to make it run better or not. After placing it into my new laptop over time it quits working. After several updates and reboots later it reappears to be used again. I am not sure why or if its just not compatible, but it works from time to time. I would definitely not recommend this for now until some of the kinks have been worked out for later m.2 drives. Going to get a replacement and just test it on Desktop to see if laptop may just not be compatible. But for now this is my rating until futher notice.

This ssd T700 is awsome. I just built a PC with top of the line components and chose this in 1tb and 4tb. The transfer speed is out if this world. Highly recommended

    Works as expected

This thing is fast and works as expected. Also backwards compatible which is nice if you need more storage now but eventually plan on upgrading your older motherboard

    Extremely Fast

Posted by Timothy Gibson on 9th May 2024

The fastest PCIE Gen 5 ssd on the market as of this review. Love the speed and crucial has been a reliable drive for me in the past. Not worth it if your motherboard doesn’t support PCIE Gen 5.

    Fastest gen5 SSD

Posted by Nicholas Hall on 21st Apr 2024

Super fast SSD… not sure I make the most out of it but there’s only 1 gen5 M.2 slot so you might as fill it with the biggest and fastest drive. New T705 is out.
