The coolest running nVMe on the market.
OK so we all know there may be faster SSDs on the market but currently there's no cooler running SSD on the market then the P3 family. Go ahead and look up independent tests and they'll tell you that at idle these things barely register above room temperature and they do thermally throttle correctly, that is to say they don't go into near explosion overheated then throttle they throttle a reasonable temperature and still give good consistent performance. Now why would you care about this on a modern system? Tablets and laptops is the answer. Most tablets and laptops do not have heat sinks or very good Silicone material to wick heat away from their SSDs. Because of this you're going to be prone to SSD overheat and failure in smaller embedded devices that don't have supplied heat sinks. The fastest performing SSD devices on the market require large active cooling solutions. This one does not. And I will personally say that from the speeds I've witnessed I don't know why any regular Person would need any faster speed for the current Windows 11 or MacOS platforms. Unless you're doing a large amount of video encoding or special gaming this SSD is going to be very fast and you will be pleased with its overall performance and reliability. The heat is the answer. These things have an incredibly low idle power consumption and as stated above they have some of the best thermal throttling on the market currently. Yes you sacrifice a little speed but I'd happily sacrifice a little speed for reliability. Also the crucial management software, well not the best, works just fine with this in a tablet and properly upgraded its firmware and was able to manage it even as the primary boot device. If you don't have an active cooling solution ready this is the chip you want. If you do have an active cooling solution go ahead and buy a faster chip and enjoy it.

Great deal if not the fastest out there.
Very fast and at a great price. I bought four of them and made a 1+0 RAID (which makes 8TB of total space come out to 4TB of double redundant storage) out of them with a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure. Storage is lightning fast with these drives. Write speed was 945 Gbps, and read speeds were 2,300 Gbps. Not the fastest for sure, but for the price it's perfect for my needs.

Great Value for secondary drive
Got this drive to use as an external drive(with an external enclosure) for photos and video storage. Works well, this is not the fastest drive if you plan to use this for primary storage but awesome for secondary storage give that I paid only $56 for a 2TB drive when it was on deal.

Great Upgrade
Wife's 1TB drive in her gaming PC was almost full so bought this to add some space. Imaged the old drive, wrote the image to this drive, and life goes on wothout a hiccup. Been using Crucial SSDs for years without any issues!

NVME PCIE3.0 SSD 2TB of space and great speed
The crucial P3 NVME SSD is a PCIE 3.0 compatible device I have the 2 TB version. This drive is capable of 3500 mb/s read and 3000mb/s write according to crucial. The drive comes well packaged in a crucial branded box with a plastic carrier for the drive and brief instructions with links to download Acronis true image cloning software and Crucial drive executive software which allows firmware updates, over provisioning and microns own cache to speed up drive access. I used this drive in my Dell G15 running Windows 11 to replace the OEM 500gb drive. Although this laptop has 2 SSD slots I used an SSD enclosure with USB C cable to clone the drive so I could duplicate the process that people would have with only 1 slot. You should go into Windows drive manager or the equivalent on a Mac and initialize the drive first so it will be recognized. I did not use the Acronis true image as I read some people had issues with it, instead I used a free third party utility to clone the drive. I also expanded the C drive partition with another utility because my drive had multiple partitions. I shut down the computer, removed the old SSD as I wanted to use it in my new USB enclosure as an external drive and installed the crucial P3 in its place. Some computers like mine have a 2230 size drive and this is a 2280 and involve moving a bracket or if you have a second SSD slot purchasing a bracket as a lot of laptops don't include these so check before if this is your plan or you will be waiting for your new bracket to arrive in the mail! On reboot the computer booted up correctly I installed the Crucial drive executive software to check if a firmware update was necessary but it was up to date. I did not over provision the drive or install the extra cache as Windows 11 is optimized to use this type of drive and these 3rd party cache applications tend to be less stable and cause problems. Drive performance was great. I have attached the images of the windows benchmarks. This was a great upgrade giving me a lot more space and improving the drive speed great for gaming and video editing as well as general computer use. This drive gives an impressive amount of space with excellent real use speed it is not the fastest but is fast enough to please most users.
