Great Ink Tank Printer for My College Student
I purchased the Canon - MAXIFY MegaTank GX3020 for my college-student daughter because of its higher capacity printing, large ink reservoirs, vivid color output, multiple paper inputs, user-friendly interface and affordable price. I already own a home version of an all-in-one ink tank printer, but I knew my daughter needed a quality printer with more robust capabilities. She asked me to check out the Canon - MAXIFY MegaTank GX3020, so I reviewed along with similar printers and determined it is an excellent product. My daughter is very happy to be using it.

Understated design with great features
Let's start with this- refillable ("tank") printers are long overdue to the Consumer market. Not only do you get to enjoy the convenience of greater capacity, it's environmentally more responsible. The Canon - MAXIFY MegaTank GX3020 Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer offers far more features than the relatively simple design presents at first glance. All of the paper feeds and catches fold or slide neatly in-and-out of the off-white and charcoal enclosure. The movement towards app-oriented control means that there's only a tiny black&white LED screen on the device. It provides all the key settings, but the real control is via the Canon PRINT app for your phone or tablet. The app offers control of scanning, copying via smartphone, photo and document printing settings and some photo-based items (calendars, cards, etc). I'm delighted by how simple and clean it is to fill the ink tanks. You simply uncap the ink bottle, invert it, and place on the associated tank (there's a key/keyhole shape- you can't get it wrong!) Very quickly executed with zero mess. The printer set-up easily on my home wifi network and I was in business fewer than 10 minutes. The only problem I had was the alignment test implied the heads were out of alignment twice. It does allow you to overrule the app and carry on. I did and had no quality issues. Print quality is good. This is a four-color (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black) system and I found the colors vibrant with sharp output to be expected from a SOHO all-in-one. (Manufacturer stated resolution of up to 600x1200 dpi). Pages are delivered in 8-12 second in my testing. Page sizes accommodated range from Legal to as narrow as 3.5" There's a 250-page cassette integrated into the bottom of the printer, a rear flat tray (one sheet at a time), and a rear tray that feeds up to 100 sheets. Of course, in addition to printing from your computer, phone or tablet, you can copy, scan to apps and the cloud. This is a nice device that I think will be a nice complement to small offices and high-use homes.
